Our Philosophy

The University Program has one specific goal and that is to create a learning experience for our students which prepares them for college and careers beyond their formal education.

Our students enter as high school freshman with the intent to complete their high school course work in three years in order to take advantage of dual enrollment opportunities on a local college campus in their fourth year of high school.  Students have the opportunity to graduate from high school with approximately 40 college credit hours before officially becoming a college freshman.

Our History

We are currently in our third year of the University Program in Calcasieu Parish Schools in Lake Charles, Louisiana.  Our program services students from two of our local high schools, LaGrange and Washington Marion.

Our program began at the beginning of the 2015 - 2016 school year.  In its first year, our program consisted of mostly freshman.  Each year we have expanded to include an additional grade level.  Now in our fourth year, we have all four grade levels represented.
